Slowly getting more done

So I am slowly getting more done on the scout.. I am currently at a impass until I can get into 6 states to get some brake cables made for the rear axle that I am 90% done restoring. All bearings are good and seals have been replaced.. just need to finish cleaning the housing of 40 year old grease and get it painted and the brake parts and it is done and then I get to move onto the front axle.. Pics when it is finally done

Well with the cold that we have had it has taken longer to paint than it should (almost 2.5 days between coats to get it to dry).. but the frame is now a beautiful Semi-Gloss black and will soon be moved out of the garage so the axles can be torn into and rebuilt ..

Well I have it 3/4 primed :).. I forgot to take a pic before I started spraying the primer of the completed rust converter stuff but here are a couple pics.. first one is right after the rust converter was applied the second is as it sits right now 3/4 primed :)

So I got all of the holes filled and ground down. I have been waiting for the last week for my 1 step rust converter to show up so that I had it on hand before I washed the frame with the power washer.. well UPS says it should be here today so I have been cleaning the frame like mad.. started with a good coat of oven cleaner let that soak and then pressure washed that off to go to the second step of some purple power cleaner degreaser to get all of the oils off.. I did spend a lot of time with my chimney brush idea and it got all of the big chunks out of the frame and scraped it nice and smooth in there

Hopefully I can post some pics of a clean and rust converted frame by end of day tomorrow

Well I have been piddling away at the scout and got some more work done.. The frame is now 3/4 clean down to bare steel, Straightened the front body mount brackets and re-welded them on (they had some cracks from the beatings they took to get bent). straighted bump stop brackets and picked up a Square Chimney brush that I will trim to size to run through the inside of the frame rails to clean out the dirt and rust.. I am planning to weld up 99% of the frame holes to stop the infestation of dirt and water in the future then once my one step rust converter shows up the whole thing will be sprayed with that then for some paint

I am just glad that some progress is being made
